Masking Master - Technical Datasheet

Technical Specifications

Maximum Tape Roll Dimensions

Tape width: ≤ 25 mm (1”)

Outer diameter: ≤ 120 mm (≤ 4.72″)

Inner diameter: 76 mm (3”)

Working space

Dimensions – The effective space for Masking Master application is 210 mm / 8.27 inches. Maximum dimensions beyond this are unlimited.

Compatibility – Not suitable for masking round objects, e.g., porthole windows.

Technical Precautions and Tips

Preparation – Ensure the Masking Master’s application surface is smooth, devoid of protrusions, dry, and free from dust or grease.

Application – Push the Masking Master towards endpoints without pressing on the tape to minimize friction and physical strain.

Post-application – Use a spatula instead of fingers to:

  • Prevent surface contamination that hampers paint or sealant adhesion.
  • Thoroughly seal the edges of the masking tape, preventing paint seepage.

Distance – Set the masking tape distance (1, 3, or 5mm) equal to or more than existing paint or sealant edges to prevent short tape ends.

Tape Width – Opt for a tape width that is equal to or less than the width of the object being masked to avoid unilateral tape stretching.

Tape Looping – Ensure the tape lies inside both 1mm “ears” on the Masking Master’s filling side (the reference side).

Maintenance and Safety

  • Regularly clean the blades with a solvent.
  • Wear safety gloves during blade changes.
  • Store in a dry place, away from heat sources, and out of children’s reach.
  • Ensure stability of your standing surface during use.
  • Keep electronics away from the magnetic parts.
  • Securely dispose of used blades.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections.

Intended Use

  • Use only for its designated purpose.
  • Lending is discouraged; you might not retrieve it!

Warnings

  • The Masking Master has sharp components.

  • Contains magnetic components; maintain a safe distance from electronic devices.

  • Continuous or extreme moisture exposure can damage the product.
